'Guiding support for family carers'

Welcome to Return Ready - Technology Skills For Family Carers

Supported by Pobal and the Department of Social Protection, the course was managed remotely by Amy.

The project has supported over 150 family carers, throughout its 14 month duration, October 2021- December 2022, to upskill/refresh their ICT (Information and communications technology) knowledge.

The aim of the project was to enable participants to feel more confident and ready to return to paid employment.

The project was delivered completely online and ran in four week blocks. Participants had access to live webinars on topics related to ICT Skills, CV Writing, Interview Skills, Remote Working, Computer Terminology and a Self Care Workshop.

In addition, each participant had access to three hours of 1-2-1 ICT tutoring and a €300 training budget to support further self development.

You can view a synopsis of the positive impact of Return Ready here.

We, at Care Alliance Ireland, have thoroughly enjoyed facilitating the Return Ready project and it has been a joy to witness such positive outcomes for the family carers who took part.

We are grateful to the Department of Social Protection and Pobal for the opportunity to deliver Return Ready and for all of their support and guidance throughout.

This project was approved by Government with support from the Dormant Accounts Fund.
