Since 1999 Care Alliance Ireland has received annual funding, based on a Service Level Agreement, from the Department of Health and Children and more recently from the HSE.
Care Alliance has also secured philanthropic donations in recent years.
Since 2008, we have secured multi-annual funding from the Department of Community Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs under their funding scheme to support national organisations in the community and voluntary sector.
Membership fees of €25 per member organisation are also a small source of funding, as well as income from seminars and conferences.
In recent years we have been successful in securing research funding from the Combat Poverty Agency (2007) The Citizens Information Board (2009), The Department of Health and Children (2009) and the Irish Research Council for Humanities and Social Sciences (IRCHSS, 2009).
We also receive occasional small scale funding from the National Lottery to undertake seminars as well as towards the cost of co-ordinating a National Carer’s Week.
In May 2006, Care Alliance Ireland moved into The Carmichael Centre in Dublin 7, which specialises in providing support services to small voluntary organisations. ()
